The way that students can be engaged with this program is by submitting their own entries such as visual arts, photography, musical composition, literature, dance choreography, and film production.
Marcus entered his film production last year and won 1st place. This year, he entered another film of his creation and won 1st place again! Way to go, Marcus!
This year's theme was "Together We Can...". I wasn't so crazy about this theme because it sounds a little too political. Well, Marcus thought that "Together We Can... Recycle", and expressed the importance of recycling in his film.

He design the plastic bottle green house and wrote the script. Then, he edited the film using online software. I think he did a pretty good job!
アメリカのPTAは『リフレクション』 というプログラムを毎年開催します。参加は自由なのですが、アート作品、写真、作曲、文学、ダンス、映像、といった部門があり、生徒たちは作品を応募します。昨年はマーカスは自作ビデオを提出し、フィルム部門の１番に選ばれました。そして今年もビデオを作って参加したところ、再び１番に。やったね、マーカス！
今年のテーマは(テーマは毎年変わります）"Together We Can…"。まるでオバマ大統領のスローガンみたいですよね。マーカスはリサイクルをテーマに選んで、リサイクルの大切さをメッセージにしたビデオを作りました。ペットボトルを使ったグリーンハウスを自分でデザインして、台本を書いて、ビデオの編集も頑張りました。
