Computer Programming Workshop for Girls

A few months ago, I found out that there was a computer programming workshop for girls in summer. I know Rio likes to use the computer a lot, and I thought it might be good for her to learn more about programming, so I signed her up. I told her that she didn't have to attend if she was absolutely uninterested, but she decided to give it a try.

It was a two-day only workshop, but Rio ended up really enjoying it. She doesn't care about the computer programming, but she loved the instructor, and she was able to meet other girls and make new friends. One of the girls happened to be someone she knew, so they were happy to see each other.

Not only was this workshop completely free, but also it had lots of giveaways/goodies. Free lunches, a free water bottle/container, free backpack, and prizes. Rio actually won a Kindle, but she traded with the girl who won a Sony Cybershot digital camera. She's wanted a camera for a while, so she was very excited.

Here's the TV news featuring the workshop. Rio is in some of the pictures they showed.
