Anniversary Dinner

My husband and I went out for our anniversary dinner tonight.

Our anniversary was a month ago, but we were very busy last month, so we decided to wait another month.

結婚記念日のお祝いに主人と2人で食事に出かけました。結婚記念日は先月でしたが、忙しかったのでちょっと保留になっていました。

We went to The Melting Pot in downtown Salt Lake City. As usual, my mother-in-law watched our kids for us. It's almost impossible for just the two of us to go out because of Anthony, but she's always willing to watch him for us. Thank you, Mom!

出かけたのはメルティングポットというレストラン。フォンデュのレストランです。いつものように、お義母さんに子供たちを見てもらって出かけました。アントニーを見てもらえるシッターを見つけるのは大変なので、いつも快く引き受けてくれるお義母さんに頼っています。

We ordered Traditional Swiss Cheese Fondue, Shrimp Ceviche Salad, Seafood Trio, Dark and Dulce Chocolate Fondue. It was quite good, and it was a fun restaurant to eat out. We thought that it was a little overpriced, but we rarely go out to eat, so we probably feel that way wherever we go. Fortunately, we used a gift card my mother-in-law gave to my husband as his birthday gift (again, thanks, Mom!), and I was very grateful for that.

食事は、まぁまぁ美味しかったです。スイスフォンデュ、えびのサラダ、シーフードのメインコース、そしてダークチョコレートとカラメルのフォンデュをデザートにオーダーしました。ちょっとお値段の高すぎの気がしましたが、お義母さんがくれたギフトカードを使ったので自己負担ゼロ。ほんとうにお義母さんにはお世話になってばかりです。

It was fun to go out with my husband for change. We should have a date night more often if we can. However, I felt happier when we got home and was able to listen to our kids' voices and just be together as a family. What I wish for is that we could go out as a family more often. The other day, we talked about how nice it would be if we could go out to see a movie together whenever we feel like it. Last time we did was a disappointment and I don't think we will ever try again.

たまには2人きりでの外食も楽しいですが、帰宅して子供たちの声を聞き、家族が揃うと、やっぱり家族皆一緒が一番幸せと思ってしまいます。皆で一緒に気軽に出かけられると良いのですけれどね～

先日リオと「出かけたい時にふと皆で映画を観に行けたりとか出来るといいよね。」と話したりしました。そういう、結構普通の家族が出来る当たり前のことが出来ないのがちょっと残念かな。
