The 5th Grade Program

Last week, Marcus's school had a 5th grade program. They have been practicing so hard, and they did a great job. It was so cute to see their performance.

先週はマーカスの学校のプログラム（発表会）がありました。5年生の社会科はアメリカの歴史だったので、このプログラムのテーマもアメリカの歴史を辿ったもの。イギリスからの移住、革命戦争、州の確立、そして南北戦争と、歌や踊りで成り立っています。

About one more month until the end of the school year for Marcus. He will start going to middle school next year in another school district where they start it from sixth grade, rather than finishing sixth grade in his current elementary school . It was my idea to send him to middle school early, but I'm still sad about him leaving this school. I won't be able to see him during the day anymore. The main reason I started working for this elementary school was so that I could see my kids. I had such a hard time when Rio moved to middle school, and now that Marcus is leaving, I'm thinking about leaving as well. What's the point of staying here, right?

あと1ヵ月ほどで、5年生も終わり。来年は中学校に通い始めます。この小学校で働き始めた理由は子供たちを気軽に教室に見に行けるし、傍にいられることが理由だったので、マーカスがいなくなったら私も仕事を辞めようかな、と思ったりしています。リオが小学校を卒業した時もすごく寂しかったですしね～

I do love what I do here (Art Through the Ages), and I feel that I should stay to run this program since I'm the only one who is in charge of this program. I'm really not sure what to do yet.

仕事自体には問題もないし、私がアートプログラムの唯一の担当者なので、辞めるのも無責任かなぁと。ちょっと悩んでいます。
