The Lego League Tournament

Definitely my favorite picture of the day. Look at those kids' expression!

I have been coaching two teams for the First Lego League, and last Saturday was the regional tournament day. This is our first year, so it was a good learning experience for all of us. Those kids did great. I'm so proud of them. By the way, our Lego league has been meeting every Friday for 2 1/2 hours, and some Saturdays for 2 hours since September.  9月からレゴ・リーグのコーチをしていました。
私のチームは2組、それぞれ8－9人、4年生から6年生で成り立っています。毎週金曜日2時間半、そして月2回土曜日に2時間ほど集まって、ロボットをプログラムしたり、組み立てたりして課題に挑戦していました。
先週の土曜日は地区トーナメントの日でした。初めてということで、出来はまずまず。でも、子供たち皆頑張りましたよ。

トーナメントの様子のビデオです。2分半の時間制限で、それぞれの障害物などをこなして得点を稼ぐロボットゲーム。緊張感ありです。



James is asking me if I'm going to coach again next season. I'm not sure yet. It requires a lot of work and commitment.
