Kids activities

So many kids' activities are happening nowadays. First of all, Rio participated in the DECA state competition. She became one of the finalists, and got the 6th place in the state in her category. She was later invited to go to the National competition in Atlanta, Georgia, but she decided to decline due to a schedule conflict. Rio also participated in the regional theatre competition, and won 1st place in pantomime. Now, the state competition is coming up in April. I am so happy for Rio and her partner. They have been working so hard with their performance. Hope they do well at the state competition.

子供たちの行事で忙しい毎日です。まず今月はじめには、リオがDECAという団体の州大会に参加して、州で6位に選ばれました。国際大会に参加するお誘いを頂いたのですが、ちょうど期末テストに時期に重なってしまうので辞退することになってちょっと残念ですけれど仕方ないですよね。
それから先週は、地域シアター競技会で、パントマイム部門に出場。そして見事1位に選ばれました。ペアで参加したリオですが、パートナーと一生懸命練習していたので、頑張った甲斐ありです。州大会は4月12日。頑張れ～！

Meanwhile, Marcus was chosen to be one of the featured players in his orchestra for their concerto concert last Wednesday. He wanted to play a different piece, but it was a little too advanced for his orchestra, so the director chose a more appropriate piece for the orchestra and asked Marcus to be one of the soloists.

そして、マーカスの方は、先週コンチェルトコンサートで演奏しました。ソロ演奏者のひとりに選ばれて、プログラムにも写真掲載されました。

Marcus is also enjoying debate with his classmates at school. He is soon going to join a soccer team at his school. It is a part of an intramural program his school offers. It is going to be a busy April/May!

学校の行事でも頑張っているマーカス。4月からはサッカークラブにも参加する予定。4月と5月は忙しくなりそうです。
